Pen Friends is an artwork inspired by my love of Illuminated Manuscripts. Contemplating the ancient alphabets, illustrations and historiated initials of ancient texts inspired me to do a piece depicting correspondence between two pen pals separated by time and space. Much of my work has a thread of immigrant loneliness running through it . An incongruity between three countries, three languages and three cultures.
